kaminska1In the recent STRATEGMED competition the EPTHERON Consortium (EPigenetic THerapies in ONcology) composed of Selvita, Maria Sklodowska-Curie Memorial Cancer Center and Institute of Oncology, Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAN,  Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology and Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology, Jagiellonian University, Wrocław University of Technology has been awarded. Altered activity of enzymes regulating epigenetic modifications is a frequent feature of different tumors.

THE NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE GRANT'S FOR THE NENCKI INSTITUTE

The National Science Centre has published ranking lists of projects which have qualified for financial backing within the limits of the competitions announced by the NSC on 17th March, 2014. Scientists from the Nencki Institute received financial backing for the 8 research projects they worked on in OPUS7, PRELUDIUM6 and SONATA7 competitions.

Dr Halina Waś among winers of INTER 2013 competition

The Foundation for Polish Science has selected the beneficiaries of the second INTER competition. The aim of competition is to develop science popularisation skills in young researchers. In the finals each of the researchers have had five minutes to present his or her interdisciplinary project.

MAYANK CHATURVEDI AWARDED FOR BEST ORAL PRESENTATION IN FEBS YOUNG SCIENTISTS’ FORUM

Mayank-ChaturvediMayank Chaturvedi (PhD student from the Laboratory of neurobiology lead by prof. Leszek Kaczmarek) was awarded for the best oral presentation at 14th FEBS Young Scientists' Forum (YSF), which was held in Paris from 27-30 August 2014. The title of his talk was: “TIMP-1 loaded nanoparticles: a therapeutic strategy for neuroprotection".

 
COOPERATION OF THE NENCKI INSTITUTE WITH THE IINSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL ORGANIC CHEMISTRY

On 18th July 2014, Prof. dr hab. Adam Szewczyk, director of the Nencki Institute (IBD), and Dr Przemysław Fochtman, director of the Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry, Branch Pszczyna (IPO) signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of joint research projects and teaching activities.
